Alma Bryant High School's Student Government Association will be sponsoring and hosting their first ever Relay for Life at the school in May. Throughout the school year SGA members will be raising funds to put towards their goal of $50,000. During the month of October they sold pink T-shirts in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The girls' shirts said "Fight Like a Girl," and the boys' said "Real Men Wear Pink." On Wednesday, October 28th, the students and faculty who bought shirts wore them to school. This event earned over $600 to put towards the SGA goal. Thus far, SGA members have raised a little over $8,000. In November, Bryant will have an Iron Bowl Day, and in December, they are hosting a "Kids' Night In" for local elementary feeder schools. For more information on how to become a team for the Relay for Life at Bryant High School on Friday, May 7th, 2010, please contact Marcy Miller, SGA sponsor, at 824-3213, or by email at mmiller2@mcpss.com.
