Dear Community Member,
We'd like to take a moment to update you on some recent accomplishments here at the Alma Bryant High School Drama Department. Last year, the Drama Department produced Charlotte's Web and The Wizard Oz, and we also competed at the statewide Trumbauer Festival where several of our Drama students earned first, second, and third prize awards. We're very proud of the growth and interest in our program over the last few years.
It is incredibly rewarding for the students to showcase their dedication and hard work with each new production, so we keep ticket prices as low as we can to fill up the seats with large numbers of family and friends. Unfortunately, the profit of each production is only enough to fund the next production, so we come up short when it is time to buy new equipment for the auditorium. There are a few things we need for the auditorium which would benefit not only the Drama Department, but also all the other groups and organizations with whom we share the space.
To meet these needs, we are launching a fundraising drive. We'll be doing things like bake sales and silent auctions to achieve our goal of $10,000 for new equipment. We also want to reach out to local businesses and members of the community for tax deductible donations to boost our efforts. Any donation you make will help us invest in things like new microphones and a storage facility. A storage unit would give us the benefit of recycling sets and freeing up space for other programs hosted at Bryant, such as Mobile County's Junior Miss or local elementary school productions.
Please review the enclosed form if either you or your company are interested in making a donation. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Eric C. Browne
